Well here I am back again post number 3 on my main blog.
It is Sunday night and once again I have just walked in the door from work, a little earlier this week then last. The weekend is just about over and tomorrow is the start of the new working week. In Victoria our children return to school tomorrow, they have had the past two weeks off with school holidays. I can honestly say I am not looking forward to my son returning, we have managed to spend a lot of time together over the past two weeks and I know I will definitely miss him.
I hope you have all had a great weekend. We had a little be of a sad moment early this morning which has been on our minds all day. At 5.05am our home phone rang which startled us all, the phone is on my husbands side of the bed and finally after knocking over everything that he could, he managed to answer it. During the time it was ringing I kept telling him to hurry up!-pick it up! His response I'm trying to, turn the light on and I will. All I could think of was something was wrong with BB our eldest daughter or one of our parents. It is amazing how in such a short period of time so much can go through your mind. Bianca had gone out Saturday night with a group of her friends and said she would message me and let me know whether or not she was coming home or staying at her friends house, I never got any message and I tried to call her several times during the night but she didn't answer. I was thinking to myself "Oh God Please No". Thankfully soon after my husband had picked up the phone I heard him say "She's asleep Trent" - Trent is my second daughter Treens ex-boyfriend and occasionally when he gets drunk he will ring up at any hour of the night and ask to talk to her. I heard Jack say - I'll go and see if she is awake. He handed me the phone and told me to talk to him and see what the matter was. I got on the phone and said - "Trent do you realise it is 5am in the morning Treen is fast asleep" in a soft voice he said "I am sorry", it was then I could tell he was crying well actually not crying but literally sobbing. I asked him what was wrong and he said - I just witnessed the worst car accident ever - OH I said, are the people ok? - No was his reply - OH did you know them? Yes. With that I told my husband to wake Treen up and tell her she had to talk to him. After spending 10 minutes on the phone and telling Trent to wait a minute Treen came into our room and told us what had happened. He and three of his mates were out night clubbing, one of the mates was the designated driver and didn't drink the rest did. They dropped two boys off at their home in Croydon and then were going to go to Trent's for the rest of the night. They were driving along Kent Avenue when they noticed a car behind them doing silly, then all of a sudden the car was gone and they heard a bang. They decided to turn around and go and see if the people in the car were ok, when they got to the spot they saw the car wrapped around a pole, they jumped out of their car and ran to the car that had crashed only to see the two mates they had dropped off in the front two seats, the passenger had blood over his face and the driver was slumped over the passenger and his body was convulsing and then stopped. Trent called the ambulance, he said he feels horrible because the operator kept asking him questions and he just kept yelling at her telling her to "send a F****** ambulance now". The Police and two ambulances arrived at the scene, the passenger was taken to hospital. Then Policeman told Trent and his mate to turn away as they removed the driver from the car unfortunately he apparently died instantly. 22 years of age. I honestly cannot work out why teenagers of today have to spend so much time at these night clubs drinking. At 22 I was married with a child, had a mortgage and responsibilities, we still managed to have a heap of fun without the nightclubs, now a days they spend all their money on alcohol and drugs, what is happening to our young generation ?? It is terribly, terribly sad that this young boy lost his life, I cannot get it off my mind, but I guess it could of been worse what if he had hit another innocent car and killed and innocent person, it really disturbs me. On that note I am going to go to bed - oh but before I do I would like to thank everyone that has visited my blog and posted a comment. I honestly believed no one would ever drop by but thanks to Meow some fellow bloggers have. Thank you.
Take care everyone, keep safe, until next time bye bye

Oh, Melinda ... that's just horrible. Poor Trent, to have witnessed it, but the poor parents who have now lost their child.
I agree about the kids of today taking no responsibility ... it is so different to 20 years ago, when we were that age. But ... what can we do.
Change of subject ...
I have Wednesday & Thursday off ... are you free, do you want me to come over ??? Would love to catch up.
Take care, hugs, Connie
Hi Melinda, Oh my god I read this in todays paper. Poor trent to have witnessed it. and to make matters worse he had taken them home. I agree with Connie some kids taking no responsibility for there actions. You take care sending big ((((HuGS))))your way. Jen.
I wish I could tell you that it's different here in the U.S. but it's not. Young people (and some not so young!) have no sense of responsibility or self preservation.
Drugs and alcohol abuse are rampant here as well and the waste of young lives saddens my heart. There's not a family that isn't affected in some way, especially by drugs here.
I hope Trent is doing better mentally, and hopefully witnessing that horrible wreck will shock some sense into him and his friends as far as the partying goes.
Thanks for your kind words regarding my blog, and feel free to visit anytime. ;-)
Hugs,
Diane
hey there, found you through Diane's Place. Sorry to hear about the accident. It's too sad.
Hi Mel... thanks for dropping by.. good to have you!
That is such a tragic, sad story...I'm with you on the drugs and alcohol thing... why oh why do they have to do it..???
What a horrible situation. Sadly, as Diane has commented....this is a universal problem...not just a local problem. How sad to lose a child....any age.....
Those middle of the night phone calls are frightening, arent' they!
Glad to find you through Diane's Place....hope to stop by again soon.
God Bless!
Diane (the other Diane!*)
Hi Melinda ~~ What a tragic accident-
there are too many of them. I don't know why young people have to drink
so much and go to night-clubs. They are young, full of life and should be able to enjoy their lives without all of that. Thank you for your comments and kind words about my blog. I try for a bit of variety. You are actually WRITING your posts, most of mine are posting things I find or read. So you are way ahead already.
Take care Melinda, Love, Merle.
